The trust deed of the first Wesleyan Chapel built in Cheadle is dated 15th April 1807.
The Chapel was erected on a parcel of ground called "Barncroft" near to where the London and North Western Railway station once stood. In 1864 the land was required by the Railway company and a new Chapel was erected on Eden Place.
