Description

The first Wesleyan Chapel was erected in 1807 on a parcel of ground called the "BARNCROFT" near the site of the late L.N.W. Railway Station. For a period of 56 years this building was used for Divine Service, and also for the purpose of a Sunday School. The site being required by the Railway Company, the present Chapel was erected in Eden Place, and the opening sermon was preached on March 8th 1865 by the Rev. Samuel Coley
